About us

An academy built around the construction site

Vikinduku Ngola Trading 16 is a CETA-accredited skills development provider headquartered in Pietermaritzburg. Founded in 2015 by Managing Director Siyabonga Mdlalose, the academy exists for one purpose: to give South Africa's emerging workforce practical construction skills that lead to real, lasting employment.

We sit where public infrastructure delivery meets community development. Municipalities, agencies and contractors tell us where their skills gaps are, and we answer with nationally recognised training designed around the work itself. We measure success by what our learners can do on site, and the certificate confirms it.

Every programme runs inside a quality management system aligned to ISO 21001, the international standard for educational organisations, and to the QCTO accreditation criteria. Assessments are moderated, records are audited and results are reviewed by the directors twice a year.

Qualifications that open doors on site

Every programme follows the same structure: knowledge in the classroom, practice in the training yard and supervised experience at an approved workplace. Learners leave with a nationally recognised credential and a signed logbook that shows an employer exactly what they can do.

Ways to train with us

Four ways to build capability

Learnerships

Structured classroom learning combined with supervised workplace experience, leading to a full qualification. Counts towards employers' B-BBEE skills development targets.

Skills programmes

Focused, credit-bearing programmes that close a specific skills gap in weeks and build towards a full occupational qualification.

Recognition of prior learning

Experienced workers earn formal credit for the skills they already have, through gap analysis, evidence and workplace assessment.

Customised training

Training designed with your team for the needs of your site: construction safety, supervisory development and compliance.

Short courses for organisations

Short courses built from accredited curricula

We take the SAQA-registered unit standards in our CETA accreditation scope and turn them into focused one and two-day workshops. Organisations get the substance of accredited training, matched to a problem that costs them time, money or safety, without taking people off site for months. Every delegate leaves with tools they can use the next working day.
